FURNACE REPAIR ESTIMATE

Do You Need a Furnace Installation Estimate?

HVAC Estimate

Buying a New Furnace?  Here are a few tips from the Heating and Cooling Experts on what You Should Avoid:

Commercial HVAC Quote

Many people automatically look at the highest HVAC cost when shopping for a new furnace.  They think because it is the most expensive it must be the best.  Don’t buy the most expensive or most efficient because of this. Depending on where you live, and the type of energy available, the highest efficiency may never pay for the extra cost to upgrade, and heating repair parts can be astronomical on some of the motors and control boards.

Don’t buy without getting at least 2–3 estimates from real, licensed residential or commercial HVAC contractors unless you have used the HVAC contractors in the past and have personal experience from them.  This will help you determine which company has not only the best HVAC contractors with the most affordable HVAC installation.  It also does not hurt to see what they charge for services like furnace maintenance plans, emergency furnace repairs, and regular furnace repairs so you have a reference point in the future when you need those types of HVAC services.

Commercial Heating Service

Be mindful of a company who advertises on TV and radio, as they simply cannot fund that type of advertising without charging substantially more than their competitors. The numbers simply don’t work.  Don’t be taken in by offers such as “free financing” or “free furnace when you buy an air conditioner” as those are, again, most likely gimmicks to make you think you are getting a good deal.  While sometimes it may be a better deal, you should get a furnace installation estimate and a separate air conditioner installation quote to see how the pricing breaks down.  It may be that the company has more affordable HVAC installers, but it could also be that each piece of the heating and cooling system is more expensive, or you don’t need the air conditioner installation in the first place.

You don’t have to sign a HVAC maintenance plan when you purchase a new furnace in your area. It makes sense to understand what the company has to offer in terms of services so when you do need a furnace repair, you know who to call because you already got a furnace repair estimate.  Make sure to read over the service manual carefully to see if you want to invest in a furnace maintenance plan from the beginning.  Many manufactures’ warranties are tied to maintaining the heating system, and you don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you must pay for costly emergency heating repairs out of pocket because you didn’t want to pay for a furnace service plan.

Furnace Repair Estimate

Don’t rush into a decision, do your research, take your time.  Buy what makes sense for you and your home or business and don't oversize your unit. People tend to think bigger is better, but this isn't true in your HVAC system. Size it to maintain temperature not heat up as fast as possible. This means turning it up a little sooner in the morning to give it time to heat up the objects in the home and the walls. These objects will suck the heat right out of the air very rapidly leaving you cold in the meantime. But once they equalize the furnace will maintain the proper temperature at the designed outside ambient load. You can help this by setting the first half hour in the morning to a temperature a few degrees higher than comfort level. This will provide extra heat to warm up the mass in the home and then drop back to your comfort level when you get up. When you get up it will be warm and toasty. A furnace is most efficient when it is running and not cycling on and off. So, of it is 20°f below outside, expect it to be on all the time. But if it is 40° you don't want if coming on every two minutes.

It is important to consider what amount of savings from your heating and cooling bill would be worth paying extra for the initial HVAC cost.  How often do you use your furnace in the your area?  Do the math, figure out if a 10% or more savings on the gas/electric usage of your heater alone, not your total bill from the utility company, but JUST the heater, will pay off. Do the actual math in efficiency. Promises of big savings on your gas bill only apply to the heating portion of your bill. Take your bills for last year and compare the difference between the off season and the on season. M the off season will tell you your gas usage when not heating. Most increase beyond that will be heating. That is the part that will go down so your savings should only be applied to that part. You may be surprised how little it really is. Compare that to the cost of the upgrade and how long you must wait to get that back in the savings.

Furnace Installation Estimate

If you live in a cold climate, likely it will, but do the math. If you are south, you probably will NEVER get your payback, plus, parts can be prohibitively expensive. What is the most likely part of the furnace to need repairs and what is the furnace repair estimate compared to other brands?  High efficiency furnaces come with a whole host of their own issues. They condense water which presents issues. Leaks can appear in many places resulting in costly emergency furnace repairs. The vents must be installed properly with the proper rise to avoid moisture backup and buildup. The furnace must be level for the drain systems to function properly. They have stainless steel secondary heat exchangers, but they can rust if they aren't draining properly. They can cost more than the furnace to repair. And don't be fooled by warranty promises. Only the parts are warranted and there are additional charges associated with those “free” parts. With the trend for flat based pricing these days the HVAC contractor makes as much on a warranty as he would if it weren't.

Don’t use someone who “does it on the side.” You want to hire a real company with the best HVAC contractors in the your local area who completes HVAC services full time, for a living. A “good buddy” deal or a guying who is doing work “on the side” is probably not giving you as good of a deal as you think, and where will he be if you have problems.  Make SURE your residential or commercial HVAC installer pulls a permit and has his work inspected. This will insure it was installed according to the manufacturers recommendation and current codes. If the contractor tries to tell you otherwise, thank him and say goodbye.  A real company WANTS to have their work inspected as proof they did everything correctly. If there is a problem down the road with an insurance claim, you do NOT want to be caught in the middle of your insurance company and some guy you hired that wasn’t qualified to do the work or didn’t do it correctly.

Buying HVAC Equipment: Expert Tips the Best HVAC Service

Affordable AC Services

When your heating and cooling system breaks down, its often confusing on what to do next.  How do you find the best HVAC contractors?  Do you need a simple heating repair or are your going to need a fast furnace installation to replace your old unit?  What kind of HVAC costs should you expect?  Is it going to be an air conditioner repair quote or an air conditioner installation estimate?  These are all things that can run through your mind moments after realizing there is something wrong with your HVAC system and knowing you need to find the best HVAC service.

Air Conditioner Repair Quote

The HVAC experts are here with a few tips on what you can do when you realize that your HVAC system is not working as well as it should be.

  • It is important to make sure you have the basic information about your HVAC unit.  What is the make and model of your heating and cooling system?  What is the brand?  How old is it?  Is the warranty still valid?  It is also beneficial to have any HVAC service records on hand to be able to communicate to the residential or commercial HVAC contractors, so they know where to start looking.  For example, if you need help with your boiler unit, the information could be from when you had your boiler installation done, any boiler maintenance plans you have, or any emergency boiler repairs that have been completed in the past.  All of this will help your HVAC expert identify the problem more quickly and make an educated decision on what the next best steps are to get your boiler repairs underway.

HVAC Estimate

  • Go through your home before you call a HVAC service contractor. Note which rooms are hot and which are cold. Figuring this out will help the contractor to diagnose the issues and quickly get to work on fixing it.

  • Prior to choosing a HVAC expert, try to have an idea of what you want done. It will be hard for a residential or commercial HVAC contractor to give you a HVAC estimate over the phone if they have not seen your current system. You need to know how to describe any issues, so they have some idea of what parts and tools to bring with them to help make a fast ac or boiler repair. So be aware of this information ahead of time.

  • If the outside of your home has condenser units, ensure they are constantly cleaned. Your HVAC system may run into problems after storms if it is surrounded by debris. It could overheat and cause a disaster with your unit, most likely ending in you needing to find an affordable HVAC installer.  To help avoid this routinely walk around your heating and cooling unit to make sure that about three-square feet around the condenser is clear of all weeds, dirt, rocks, twigs, and any other debris.  This will help with air flow to the machine.

  • Make certain that you clean your condenser when the weather begins to warm. Don't forget to disconnect the power first. Then you need to get the grill popped off and get the blades out, so you can clean them and your unit gently.  If you don’t want to do this on your own, there are HVAC maintenance plans that include spring and fall tune ups to keep your HVAC system running smoothly.  These plans even come in more specific heating and cooling needs like air conditioner service plans or boiler maintenance plans, depending on your needs.

Air Conditioner Installation cost

  • When you are working with a residential or commercial HVAC contractor in your area, it is helpful to get their professional advice when selecting a location for an outdoor compressor. The cooler the air that the unit can access, the less work it has to perform so opting for a shady area would be ideal.  Make sure that any movement of the compressor or initial location is factored into your HVAC quote.  Having all the details will help with a fast ac or furnace installation.

  • Make sure you have your HVAC system checked at least twice a year. This should be done in Fall and Spring to prepare it for the extreme months. This type if preventative HVAC maintenance is highly necessary to ward off any expensive emergency HVAC repairs from coming your way.  The Heating and Cooling Experts offer a wide range of air conditioner maintenance plans, boiler service plans, and furnace service plans.

Furnace Repair Costs

  • If at all possible, install double-paned windows in your home instead of those with a single pane. Windows that are double pane keep the cool air in and can greatly reduce the amount of time your air conditioner will need to run. Your home will also stay warmer in the winter.  This simple act will help reduce the wear and tear on your heating and cooling systems, reducing the HVAC costs you could have from boiler repairs and furnace repairs.

  • A programmable thermostat is a simple way to help save money on air conditioning costs. Such thermostats could help you save around ten percent when it comes to energy costs. Additionally, some models of programmable thermostats allow you to control them remotely from your office computer or cell phone.  This means you can increase the temperature of your home while you are away, saving your HVAC system from running while no one is home to benefit from it’s efforts.  Then, when you are ready to come home you can modify the temperature to what you want it to be.

Air Conditioner Repair estimate

  • Nobody ever wants their heating and cooling systems to need emergency HVAC repairs when you are depending on it to stay comfortable in your home. The above information should help you prevent costly boiler repairs and save you from having to find affordable AC repairs.  The most effective way to prevent needing to find fast ac services or affordable heating services in the area is to get an HVAC maintenance plan.  This will ensure the majority of your HVAC costs will go to minor, more affordable ac or boiler repairs instead of more expensive repairs like needing a fast furnace or boiler installation.

HVAC Expert Tips to Getting an Affordable HVAC Installation

HVAC Quote

Are there times when you wonder if your air conditioner or furnace is working properly? Is it hard to keep your home at a comfortable temperature? If so, it may be time to look for a new HVAC system. The Heating and Cooling Experts are here with a few tips:

  • Make sure you check the filters in your air conditioning unit. This is important because checking your filters could make the difference between minor more affordable ac repairs and more expensive emergency ac repairs down the line. Try to put it into your monthly schedule so that you don't forget to check the filters regularly.

HVAC Cost

  • Before you start calling to find the best HVAC Contractor to fix your unit, make sure you know the type of HVAC system that is installed. Get information on the make and model, plus if you have information on the history of any AC maintenance plans, that will help, too. This will help make sure that the HVAC contractor you hire has all the necessary information.  It will also help with getting fast ac or boiler repairs because they will have the necessary information up front and are more likely to be able to resolve your repair problem on the first trip.

  • Be sure to get every air conditioner repair quote or furnace installation estimate in written form. You have no recourse on a verbal agreement, so a written contract is a must. This will allow you to follow up if something goes wrong or you don't get what you were promised, protecting you from shady HVAC contractors.  To find the best HVAC Contractors in your area, make sure you are looking at reviews from past customers and they are professional residential or commercial HVAC installers who don’t work “off book”.  It may be tempting if they offer you the most affordable heating service or best AC service because they are taking payment under the table.  You want all of their work done legitimately and on record, otherwise it might void the warranty on your HVAC system.

Residential HVAC Service

  • Clean your outdoor condensers often. Debris quickly gathers here, even more so if there is a storm. This can cause major issues with your system. Debris like this can cause it to overheat, which could be detrimental to your system since it will expedite the wear and tear on it’s parts.  This leads to not only ac or furnace repair costs, but also the risk of needing a fast ac installation during a hot summer month due to your AC breaking down completely.  It could also lead to emergency air conditioner repairs that you weren’t anticipating.

  • Look to your neighbors and family to get recommendations of the best HVAC contractors in your area. Likely there's someone you know who's already done a ton of research. Use this knowledge to help get you the best contractor you can. This can save you many hours of research time and money too.

Affordable AC Repair

  • In order to avoid having any problems with your air conditioning unit, keep all vegetation at least two feet away from the outdoor unit. The unit should be clear of any vegetation on all sides and above. When you mow the lawn, aim the grass clippings away from the ac unit. This will prevent grass getting inside the ac and making it malfunction.

  • As you compare new HVAC system, be sure to look at the energy ratings for each unit. The higher they are, the better they will be. Efficiency will not only get your home comfortable faster, but it will save you on your energy bills when you are running your new HVAC unit.  Factor in the monthly energy savings when reviewing both the HVAC unit cost and the air conditioner installation cost.  You want to make sure you are making an affordable ac installation choice for both the short term and the long term for your home.

Heating Repair Quote

  • Consider an annual HVAC maintenance plan agreement for either residential or commercial HVAC Contractors to regularly inspect your AC unit. Schedule brief inspections for the winter to make sure nothing is obviously wrong. The most important time for an inspection and service is just before it starts getting warm. You don't want to discover an AC breakdown when you need it working most.  This will also help you make more affordable ac repairs when the problem is caught early to avoid more costly emergency ac repairs down the road.

A good HVAC system can keep your home comfortable, no matter how hot or how cold it may be outside. However, it can be hard to find the perfect HVAC system for your needs because it is often something you don’t think about until you already need it.  The Heating and Cooling Experts are here to help with all of your HVAC service needs, from Commercial HVAC quotes to Furnace Repair Estimates.  Contact us today to see how you can get the most out of your HVAC system.
